URL Builder
The URL Builder tool helps you create properly formatted URLs with UTM parameters for tracking marketing campaigns in Google Analytics. By adding UTM parameters to your URLs, you can track where your website traffic comes from and measure the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns.
How to Use
- Enter your website URL in the “Website URL” field
- Fill in the required campaign tracking parameters:
- Campaign Source (required): Identifies the source of your traffic (e.g., google, facebook, newsletter)
- Campaign Medium (required): Identifies the marketing medium (e.g., cpc, banner, email)
- Campaign Name (required): Specifies the name of your marketing campaign
- Optionally add:
- Campaign Term: Used for paid search to identify keywords
- Campaign Content: Used to differentiate similar content or links within the same ad
- Copy the generated URL using the “Copy” button
UTM Parameters Explained
- utm_source: Identifies where the traffic comes from (e.g., google, facebook, newsletter)
- utm_medium: Identifies the marketing medium (e.g., cpc, banner, email)
- utm_campaign: The name of your specific campaign (e.g., spring_sale, product_launch)
- utm_term: Identifies paid search keywords
